Samvit,

I want to thank you for stating what you have stated about PK. I appreciate
the directness of your words. However, you still have not said anything
about your previous statements:

"Oh yes Anupam, you forgot about the Goshtabas that she was feasting on
after she spoke at the Aazadi seminar. In KAshmir it is called
Goshtaba diplomacy."

How is Goshtaba diplomacy connected to what you have said just now for Panun
Kashmir?

"She is a fly by night operator and has no business in the
Valley. She and people like you try to use your verbal jugglery to
promote an anti India agenda."

How have you decided in the above statement that people like me are
promoting anti India agenda? What were your grounds, to be precise? So far,
you have associated me with JNU and smoking hashish, bolivian leftist
guerillas. (apologies if i am missing out on something else. You know what,
i feel really kicked when you associate me with these things because I am
just a regular guy with an irregular job. And yes I engage in debauchery
when I am drunk just like millions in this country. Please do not think only
JNU students are capable of that.) I believe in an oppressive state, any one
who is speaking about masses, making some observations about the general
state of rot in any country of this world are labelled as activists. that is
where intelligence fails and categorization happens, even before the issue
is addressed.

"Also, I removed the garb of Arundhati being a pro-poor because she wears
western bourgeoisie outfits and goes to expensive gyms."

As far as I can recollect, you used the word 'skimpy' in an earlier reply
which is why I called you a pervert. Yes, such observations on people are
perverse.

Also, DOES OUR GOVERNMENT LISTEN TO THE POOR? When did Arundhati Roy or any
of her supporters say that "hey we are poor" and then they were caught on a
tape with tonnes of money. for all you know, these people are paying taxes
for every single book they are selling. it was shameful for MP government,
which is worst when it comes to the implementation of Forest Rights Act, to
have overtly pursued Roy's husband's house. You know what message comes when
I read about such actions by democratically elected governments, that there
is no space for people to speak or express their angst. it is better, if
they pick up guns, explode a few bombs. only then they hear that we are
slowly dying a death as a country. these writers and their supporters who
you attack with your observations, are demanding the rights of people who
have been forced to be poor, while Ratan Tata in an interview says Obama
administration that India has emerged. emerged from where? an industrialist
making such a statement is unfortunately becomes the headline for a
newspaper but a writer using all her prowess to explore the psyches those
who decided to explode the bombs to attract attention (may be tired of
shouting and screaming for years) is vilified. what are these strange times?
And you accuse me of being utopian.

poverty being a condition that persists because those alternatives through
which the poor may have used their potential to earn their livelihood was
not given to them. that way, all the politicians from all hues who launch
pro poor scheme should be default go to jails when a scam in any of these
schemes break out. howcome its you Samvit who sees that someone who is
writing, exploring such social stigmas cannot do what they like in their
personal lives. it is not as if such writers or social workers are violating
your personal rights. is Arundhati Roy or her supporters encroaching your
house or your comfort? or are you generally, in that soap opera bahu style
jealous of them because they are speaking up for the poor of this country
and not you? What would be the connection to her being anti India, wearing
'western outfits' to gymnasium, what you have just stated about Panun
Kashmir, and what I had asked you: your idea of a nation?

lastly, "you seems to have a fetish of questioning people who do not agree
with you"

Why should not i question? in agreement, there is understanding. In
disagreement, there is no understanding. so let me understand, where this is
coming from.

Anupam
