SEZ shall not be permitted in Kerala

Dharna and get together against SEZ


Implementation of Special Economic Zone would be against the content
and spirit of the proclaimed industrial policy of the Left Democratic
Front Government, said Sri Kanam Rajendran, AITUC General Secretary.
Organized labour movement in Kerala would not tolerate the SEZs
stealing each hard -earned privilege including 8 hours working, he
warned the government. He was inaugurating the protest dharna
organized by the like –minded political and social movements in front
of the Government Secretariate, Trivandrum,

Rehiman(Yuva Janatha Dal), Harilal (Kerala Sasthra Sahithya
Parishath), Manglin Peter (Theera Desa Mahila Vedi), M.A. Soosi
(Mahila Samskarika Vedi),  Swaroop (equations),  Shibu (Thanal),
M.Sundaresan (All India U.T.U.C),  Anto  Eliyas (K.S.M.T.F) and Biju
Vargese(P.U.C.L) made their speeches.

            It was decided to petition the LDF and opposition
parties to intervene to ensure that SEZs shall not be permitted in
Kerala.
