[Reader-list] Can't we shut Reader-List temporarily until polls are over

Its interesting to see that in the cacophony of the election when somebody jokes about closing SRL temporarily, that's also taken seriously. But some of the inane discussions between left and right are getting too much to bear. We know we can't convince anyone on the list to vote for a certain candidate or party. Nor is any single Sarai reader going to go get his/her family and friends to vote for a party because Sarai says its good.
And if the "firangis" find these "ferocious" discussions as the reflection of real democracy in India, they haven't seen nothin. Maybe the Indian TV channels could give you a better picture from those remote corners.
