Delta is a set of four prints on silver metallic paper. The work brings together imagery from two of Raqs’ previous works: ‘Swamp’ & ‘Marsh’ and ‘Tears (are not only for weeping)’.

The work moves between the wetness of a swamp and a marsh and the motion of a magnified tear falling – laced as it is with salt crystals, it marks the salinity of feelings that make us feel undone. There is a delicate chemistry of wateriness in landscape and emotion: in both our mammalian bodies know the past and the present. The work amplifies the weight of each tear as it falls, carrying with it silent residues of memory and feeling.
